Sony, after 12 years has finally announced the end of Floppy Disks. Not really sure what took so long, I don't really remember the last time I used one of these.. However I can reminisce the days of my child hood when I was trying to become a hacker and learn everything I could about computers and I had tonsss of these 2.55MB wonders lying around.. I have a closet full of them here somewhere..

Can't wait to see where this $8.5 million order went..
Some "top secret client" just placed an $8.5 million order for PicoP's laser display engine to "embed in a high-end mobile media player.." said player is rumored to come out late this year but won't be announced much sooner than it's release time.. bummer but leads me to wonder who may have made the investment. It would be cool to have this feature in my next phone! put a bunch of movies on it and watch them on my wall or somthing.. very cool

Word?
At first I looked at this and just thought it was another crazy worthless idea.. but really it's a great idea; aimed at allowing users who are incapable (or without) upper extremeties this concept is a great idea for disadvantaged individuals to roam their desktops.

Geohot brings back other OS support with PS3 3.21OO custom firmware
With the recent update to PS3 removing the option to install other OSs, a group called Geohot is hot to work on putting together a custom firmware to allow users to keep the option. It isn't available to the public yet but should be soon. It is stated that the firmware should be safe and easy to install. Geohot said that it may even be able to allow new PS3slim users the ability to use an alternate OS but is still testing the idea.
